Volunteer Voices

Sabnum Shrestha: "I have been volunteering in different programs held by CGNN. From the very beginning I had an inner desire to do something good for the society as well as the world, so I chose to get involved with CGNN through which I can do something for the betterment of the environment. This can be a good platform. Working as a volunteer at CGNN for several months, I have assembled a great deal of experience. I am glad that I am engaged with CGNN."

Rabin Maharjan: I was interested in being part of social work and helping others so I joined CGNN for my self-satisfaction. My self esteem has increased from appearing in front of others and I hope for more. Being a volunteer for CGNN has been the best experience in my life. It as made me more confident to work in any field. It is a good platform for personal development and it has done so much work that benefits the society, leaving behind knowledge as well as curiosity among people. I hope the project will be able to make a clean and green environment.

Pratiksha Pant: I am involved with CGNN for my internal happiness. I think my little help will make some contribution to environmental conservation. I am happy about doing some social work not only for me but for my country and my earth. If you people are interested in environmental conservation, CGNN is the right place to join.

Sunita Giri: I joined CGNN to gain knowledge, to develop self confidence, and to raise public awareness about environmental issues. I am very happy and thankful to CGNN.

Pratima Panta: I joined CGNN to do some activities for environmental awareness. I have been developing my knowledge and skills by being involved with CGNN. I have also been doing presentations on environmental issues, which I liked so much and made me happy. My aim in joining CGNN is to gain knowledge about the environment and to make others aware.

Saman Dongol: I came to know about CGNN through an FM program, and from that program I learned that CGNN is contributing to the environment for the welfare of children. I believe that I can do something for the betterment of the environment. This organization is providing a platform so I decided to join as a volunteer. Environment is a big issue. It is linked to every aspect of life, human and animal. I think through these kinds of activities we can make many people aware. Volunteers can also improve their inner talents.

Amit Baniya: I joined CGNN because I am very interested in the environment. CGNN has experience in environmental conservation. My main reason for joining CGNN is to gain some knowledge so that I can teach people about the environment, to utilize natural resources properly, and to conserve the environment. My expectation from CGNN is to gain knowledge about the environment and to make people aware to save the environment.

Alina Bista: Volunteering was something that I really wanted to do ever since I was at school, connected with environment or public awarness. I was searching for an oppurtunity to make my desire come true. Luckily I heard about CGNN from an interview that was aired on the radio. As it is said, "First impression is the last impression." I was fascinated by the name Children for Green New Nepal". This is due to the fact that, today, everyone talks about having a "new Nepal". Almost every politician talks of bringing "Naya Nepal" through elections or by changing rules and regulations. However, the fact that today's children are tommorow's future is often unnoticed. I was impressed with CGNN because it mainly focuses on children. I am very glad to be a part of this organisation. Lucky me that I had an oppurtunity to go to a school presentation on my third visit, which was real fun. I am sure to have a great time working with CGNN in the future.
